I know colourful make-up looks are beautiful and look flawless on dark skin. But we can all agree that sometimes we want a more toned down natural look. If nudes (not the naughty kind) are more your thing, here are some make-up products you will absolutely need in your collection, especially if you’re a beginner.

Eyes

Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette – £27

Huda Beauty boasts that the Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette in Rich has been created to suit every skin tone and eye colour. These eyeshadows have a creamy matte finish with highly pigmented shades that blend together beautifully and are an absolute must-have if you are willing to spend a bit more for luxury.

I love the sleek compact shape with added mirror for ease of use.

Makeup Revolution Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Dark – £6

If I could only own one nude eyeshadow palette for the rest of my life, it would be this one. Not only is this a dupe for the Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow palette in Rich, but the shades are also pigmented and blend together beautifully.

My favourite thing about this palette is that it is incredibly versatile. You can use the mattes to create a minimal eye look which is great for work or a chilled day out. This palette also features shimmery shades so all you need is one sweep to your eyelids and *voila*, you have transformed your look perfect for a night out.

Elf Bitesize Eyeshadow Mini Palette – £3

My respect for e.l.f. went up serious levels when they created these bitesize palettes for £3 but did not compromise on quality. With palette shade Pumpkin Pie; the gold shimmers are buttery, pigmented and glide onto the eyelids with ease. The dark nude mattes are soft and blend together perfectly. For £3, this is the perfect addition to play around with, without breaking the bank.

Lips

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Lipstick – £5

A good, affordable nude lipstick is the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Lipstick range. This is a buildable product and enriched with cocoa extract to keep your lips hydrated. This matte lipstick comes in eight nude shades from deep dark to light – I especially love Chocolate Fudge and Mocha (featured above.)

I love the super cute packaging of the metallic shiny chocolate bar lipstick lid and yes they smell as good as they look – like chocolate!

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Lip Gloss – £4

If you are more of a lipgloss person, then you’ll be pleased to know that Makeup Revolution has a gloss version of the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Lipsticks. They too come in a range of shades and smell like chocolate! They are formulated with antioxidant vitamin E to keep your lips soft and smooth and has a shiny glossy finish.

Makeup Revolution Sheer Lip – £4

Another lip gloss to check out is the Makeup Revolution Sheer Lip. This non-sticky gloss will glide onto your lips effortlessly and provide a good amount of pigment. The Sheer Lip lip gloss not only comes in nude shades but colourful ones too. To save you sifting through lots of shades, here are the dark skin friendly nudes I recommend: Gone Rogue, TGIF, Muse, Demeanour and Fling (you can thank me later).

Kiko Milano Smart Fusion Lipstick – £3.99

Creamy Colour Comfort Lip Liner – £4.99

I’ve talked about these two before (here) but I’m here to tell you again because they are a staple in my make-up bag. The lipstick is rich and nourishing whilst the lip liner is definitely creamy and ensures no smudges. This will be the perfect nude shade if you are Shade 450 in Fenty Foundation (like me!)

Cheeks

MUA Shimmer Highlight Powder – £3

I recently reviewed this highlighter on Dark Hues’ Instagram and in Radiant Cashmere it is simply stunning. It provides a natural highlight that shines beautifully when the light hits your face. This has become a firm favourite as its purse-friendly and really good quality.

Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush – £19

Do not be deceived by the vividness of the colour of this blush. This blush is sheer and gives you a buildable finish which is exactly what you want from a blush (no clown cheeks here!) The Fuego Flush shade has a soft orange tone which I think makes this product in particular, great for dark skin. It provides a hint of warmth to the face that will blend in nicely with the rest of your nude look.
